I will be moving in about a week and will be working at the Chennault International Airport. Any good apartments in the area or any areas/apartments to not live in?

Any info would be a great help
Thx

I would recommend staying south of Interstate 210.  Not sure how the housing market is today, but recently it was pretty hard to find a place.  I can put you in touch with a real estate agent if you need me too.  Pretty sure they have rental properties.

Is this a permanent job or temporary?

Lake Charles has lots of industrial jobs consisting of refineries, chem plants and LNG plants.
Plus lots of casino jobs and casino support jobs. Three huge casinos there.
Hence the need for lots of rental housing. Housing is at a premium there. Some people are there
temporary for refinery turnarounds and construction. I suggest you find a hotel then rent by the week
for several weeks before finding a place and signing a lease.

Talk to people at the airport and gets some leads on the housing. Chennault is on the east side
so you might be able to live out in the country on the east side. Most of the industrial sites
are west and south of Lake Charles.

On the other hand you are moving to some of the best fishing areas in Louisiana. Big Lake has some great fishing.

Hopefully it’s a permanent move. I work in aviation and pretty rocky right now but I think this place is pretty stable.

Always love some fishing!!!!!

My wife is from LC and so is most of her family. Currently housing in LC is pricey due to the building of the plants even trailers are 1k a month.

Lots of fishing in Big Lake,  Calcasieu Lake, Sabine Pass, Holly Beach to name a few.

Looks like I can get a hotel room for a month at a decent price. Compared to rent utilities and all that. Give me a chance to look around. I start on June 15th so anyone want to shoot or fish or drink beer let me know.

Get some smoked boudin from Peto’s. I could have lived on that stuff.
