In Michigan at the moment. Wife will be working just over the Mass state line. I won't live there so, NH it is. I am interested to know what ranges are NFA friendly. The internet is not very helpful. But, proper training is important to me.
Wife and I will be driving over on the 11th and staying for two weekends looking for a house. The bidding war going on is crazy. We flew in last weekend and put a bid in on a house. 47 bids total had been put in. We went 30K over asking and lost. Gonna have to get crazy I see. I haven't been on this site in quite a while. Infact, my old ID was canceled. For multiple ID's. Which not sure what happened there. But, searching for NH gun forum. Only one pops up and the traffic is minimal. Here in Michigan. MGO's site is great. Seems odd, that a free state doesn't have a large internet presence. I have heard the VA is better in NH. So, there is that. But, I am sure. They also don't give out real pain meds. |

When you say “NFA friendly” are you talking about full auto?
I haven’t seen any ranges that don’t allow SBR’s, suppressors and the like. Full auto is a different story and I haven’t looked in a while what the requirements are. I just sent in my application to join Pelham fish and game and will also join Pioneer when they open memberships again. |
|
Pscataqua in Greenland allows full auto. Not sure what is required for membership but you can probably find it on their website.
Good luck Thurman |

I have a FRT and ECHO trigger setup on a couple AR's. So, I would like to keep using them. The Sportsman's club I belong to now. Blue Water Sportsman's club. You can do pretty much what you want, as long as you are safe about it. They have multiple 50 yard ranges for shooting. Just hoping I can do the same at a new home. I will check out that range. Thank you
Well, membership look cheaper there. I am paying $125 a year now. http://www.piscataqua-club.org/index.html is a bit higher. Plus 8 hours of volunteer work. |

Most of the "traffic" for NH is located on NortheastShooters.com forums. There are a few NH State Reps active on the site as well as many of us regular folks.
I'm a member of Londonderry F&G but they shut down their waiting list as there are 500 already on it and membership is capped at 1500. Find a home first, then a club as travel East-West within NH is very slow so a club 15 miles away could take you 30-45 minutes to get to/from. A lot of NH clubs cap their membership, a concept I disagree with. Before moving I belonged to a club that over 20 yrs went from 2500 members to 7000 members and I never had to wait to shoot unless there was a club-sanctioned event taking up the ranges. |
|
Yeah, find a house first. Good luck. Our range caps membership. We're letting in a few this year in August, possibly.

I was planning on getting a home first. Just trying to put some ducks in a row. Little dudes keep running off.
I will try to make it to my range before I go and blow off some steam and find my moment of Zen. Switching my carry pistol over to my 1911. Since I will be flying home from Boston. I am still a little foggy on the whole Glock thing in Mass. I will check out the Northeastern forum. I have run across it. Didn't know that was the place to be for the area. |

Ok, Back home now in Michigan. No issues at the airport. I did notice that you can cross a state line in a hurry there. Found ourselves in Maine. Went to Fort Mccleary I think it was.
The house hunting really really sucks. Only a third of what you see you want to even touch the door handles. We lost 5 bids. The last one was 60K over asking. Wife is still there as she needs to start her new job. She should have an idea on timing and we will talk tonight. The area is very nice. Lots of trees and nature. Then, the red white and blue everywhere is great. The new building that her company is building is in Haverhill. Trying to find the same size house is a problem with the surge in home buyers. The 2000 ft homes are sucked up fast. Had a open house canceled because someone offered an obscene amount of money site unseen. |

Yes it is. Pretty cool, with all the granite.
Wife had a good first day. Getting a bit stressed out about not getting a house. Just got to keep looking. But, we will keep looking and making offers. Really want to get our house sold before the bubble pops. |

We should have a 5k foot old/new house on the market soon. in derry

How soon is soon? And what is it? We are looking for 2000 square foot or so, 2 car garage, basement. Your basic colonial . Don't want split levels. Wife has a few more to look at after a search online tonight. I am sure more will pop before the weekend.

What towns are you focusing your search on? I know a nice place in Stratham.

View Quote 1700's farm house portion is 4 rooms each with their own fireplace ( colonial ) the 2 additions which were added in the 80's more than double the original portion of the house Old portion has a stone basement new has concrete No garage but a larger driveway and "parking lot" area as it was my wifes place of business The house to the right of it is over a million the one across the street is easily 750k plus those were both built in the last 3 years We are putting this on the market starting at 600k I expect it will go for 25k more than that and be gone within 2 weeks As far as soon I'm hoping for 2 weeks from now |

We downloaded the RE tax rate table for NH and then did some narrowing down via Google, looking at various town websites, etc. After narrowing it down to 7 towns in the SE NH area, we took a few days and paid visits to each town's town clerk office and asked a lot of questions. We also picked up the town annual report from each of them. Reviewed them and made a list of plus and minus for each town. We also had a list of house "must have" and "would like to have" features. We gave that info to our RE agent (another gun person, active on NortheastShooters.com) and reviewed tons of houses online via Realtor.com, Zillow.com, etc.
The irony is that what we bought was not what we were looking for but it was the nicest house that we saw in many trips. A strong must have was a straight ranch . . . well the ones we looked at were eaten by termites and in terrible condition (all RE pictures looked great however). We ended up with a colonial house that had undergone a very nice rebuild of the kitchen and all bathrooms over the years they lived there. No regrets, but be prepared to compromise a lot. Windham is very expensive plus very high taxes. Their schools are supposed to be superb, so if you have school-aged children it may be a good place to move. But for those of us in retirement years, not so much. Good luck on the hunt. |

Ah, we need a garage for my wife and my Vette. Sounds like a nice house. With history.
So many houses look great in pictures. After you see a couple. You really start to look at the pictures. There is a house listed that is about 20 years old and the walls had never been fully painted completely. Not even around the fridge. For $475K. Then, others are just used up. Never maintained. |

Yeah Our new house is built in the "back forty" of that lot
2400ish sq ft ranch. ( I wanted everything on one level) Original spec was for a 2 car garage. I pushed it to 3 and Now I want a large shed too.. Love our new house its near right on size. Only thing is garage is fucking full of a lot of crap from my MiL and Wife being in that 5K plus house for 50 plus yrs and the wifes whole life. down sizing was hard and now its a matter of sifting thru a lot of what we packed and saying goodbye to it. We already tossed out 2 30 yard dumpsters of crap and I have a 20 yard container that I need to off load into the basement once lumber prices dip again so I can build a locked cage for the 40 plus years of files that the BAR is making my wife hold onto. From her law practice, PLUS the one she bought out. I mean F ME why cant that crap be shredded 99% of the people in those files are dead and burried. anyway. yeah I am happy with the new place. Just need some time to really sink my teeth into it other than maintaining the lawn and driveway. |

A ranch style would be great. My wife has walking issues. Enough metal in her to set the TSA at the airport on alert when she goes through. But, I have been looking into those inhouse elevators. If need be. So, a garage is needed for sure. She can't clear a bunch of snow very easy.
I know about crap being stored as well. My inlaws stuff is still in the basement. A dining room set that is about 100 years old. I don't think the table is going to make the move in one piece. I have repaired it several times already. Then, the sentimental junk. Sure, I have a few boxes myself. But, I need her to go through and say good bye to a lot of stuff. Wife went to a couple houses yesterday. They are ok. Some things that need to be fixed. Nothing too bad. More Friday and Saturday. Then, we make offers this weekend. Something has to hit. Once in, then I can worry about a good range and where to get some high octane fuel. There are some nice fast cars there and from some areas of burned rubber on the streets I noticed. It has to be there. Ahh... One thing at a time. It does look like I can keep my job. For now at least. I work from home for an auto maker. I am a broken down autotech. I now work a PC and help tech's at dealers when they are stuck. It may change when it is mandated to return to the office. |

Cool! You're coming to NH from Michigan with many questions.
Here's a few questions from someone who was born and raised in NH. Will you be bringing liberal views to NH? Will you be voting Democrat? Will the 2A matter most above all else? Are you for Abortion? Are you for raising the minimum wage to $15.00 for useless workers who can only push a broom or flip over a burger? You like the laziness that the Chinese Virus brought to us. You're now demanding to work out of your home permanently. Do you agree with government handouts (Gibs)? We should all be on the hook to pay for the useless Post Office. A business that's been in the Red for the last thirty plus years. You agree with taxpayer paid family leave, full day kindergarten ( Taxpayer paid babysitting ). Here is my question. What are you bringing to NH that will benefit our state in a conservative way? |

Well, I think I have read one of the dumbest posts I have seen in a long time. But, let answer something for you. I am one of the seven founders of the Wayne County Michigan Militia. I was active enough that I ruined my marriage. I backed off once Mark from Michigan. Whom I was on the security team for disappeared. If you don't know who that is. Then shame on you for not having the knowledge on the fight. He was picked up by the FBI and turned.
Since that time, I have backed off from that. I became a Concealed Pistol Instructor and tought people and got them armed and carrying. I have ran hundreds through the class. It has been a few years since I have done a class now. Since pain is a daily thing for me, but having a VA rating of 60%. I still work. Honestly it should be 100%. But, you deal with it. Of course now. Getting pain meds from VA doesn't happen. Yay me. As for the rest of your questions. Get a life. What part about America means we all have to be the same. You sound like a liberal. Totally tolerant for sure. Whether I am for abortion or not means what? If I am a good Christian then I have to be against it? Oh, that means I need to believe in God as well I take it. So, If I don't go to the same church as you. I am somehow less of an American? Well, bite me. I don't even care if you are gay. Just leave the kids and livestock alone. So, where do I apply for permission to move freely in America? Who do you think you are? I love self righteous people. They can't help themselves but show their true colors. Can't have a good time without putting someone else down. It is also my experience. When someone talks like you. Then, tries to get people to act on something, Illegal. Tend to be government informants. Specialist, what have you done for the fight? |

Many claim that MA folks are moving to NH bringing their liberal views and lifestyles with them, turning NH into MA. This one is coming from the state that houses (((Detroit))) and some of you are welcoming him with open arms ---no questions asked. I for one want to see how he is registered to vote in his town or city. Otherwise, he can beat it. You think the 2A is what decides his vote? Let's see. Let's challenge him to see his voting record. How is this person different from what we refer to as a Masshole? I would like to see some proof that the OP doesn't vote Democrat. |
