When you first posted this it was kind of sparse. I'm glad to see that the list has filled out a bit! I hope that continues.

I’ll be at the billings gunshow this weekend.   Look for the guy with an engraved Gatling gun and say hello as you go by.

Anybody going to be at the Billings gun show? I am thinking of going tomorrow. I have never gone on a Friday, or should I wait til Saturday? Just curious if some vendors won't be there tomorrow but would be set up Saturday

How was the show?

Went Friday afternoon. Got there around 3. At first it was pretty packed. But after 20-30 min the rush seemed to have been over and could browse easily. It was just the one room. Not the two like when I have gone before. Didn't buy anything.
Only thing that caught my eye was a Iraq marked 98k. Was mostly matching but had a couple force matched parts. One table I asked about a Mauser hsc and the guy replied "everything in that case I am not really looking to sell" ok then.
Most ammo was available and prices were down but still more than if you go to Scheels/shiptons

Kalispell show this last weekend sounded similar.

Couple cool things.

Found one thing that followed me home.Attachment Attached File

I stopped in last weekend at the Helena show. I would feel guilty if I was the promoter to actually charge $7 for admittance. It was pretty poor show.
Had to chuckle at the guy who had a engraved Winchester model 12 shotgun for sale who was asking over ten grand, I forget the exact amount. My friend went to take a picture of it as his dad collects Winchester model 12s and the guy told him he couldn't take a photo. Couple deals were to be had on small random stuff but it overall was pretty poor.

Yeah you always have to go look. Never know when something is going to pop out of the woodwork.
I have been wanting to get a ww-1 1903 Springfield but haven't yet snagged one

I'll be at the Black Friday Billings show with Jollyroger from falfiles again.

Not really looking for anything in particular, just a chance to squeeze in another gunshow before the winter dearth of gunshows for me

Will do.  Original 1903?  Care about “brittle receiver” ones?     I have one myself and am not bothered by it.

Damn.  Why is this show always when I'm on night shift?

Speaking of 1903s, I'd really like an early one with USMC features that could have hypothetically been used in as many conflicts as possible.  Philippines, WWI, Caribbean, WWII, etc.

Anyone heading to the gun show at the fairgrounds in Kalispell early December? If the roads aren't shit, I'm thinking of driving up to see what's available besides overpriced Winchesters, Beanie Babies, and jerky.

If I don't have a baby born unexpectedly, I'll probably check it out

It went good for me.  Got rid of a fair number of stuff.    Was a pretty boring show though as far as other stuff around.

I got two things.   A little Romanian Trainer .22 rifle in mint shape with cleaning kit in the buttstock for $200. Never had one and be a fun little plinkers.

Also got that mint 1909 Argentine Mauser with sling, bayonet and artillery short sword from Bill.   I got so much 7.65 ammo and he gave me enough of a deal I couldn’t pass on it.

The one in April?  I'm planning on being there in february.   April is my busiest month so I usually never make it down there.

Tell me more about the Argentine!

I wound up with an 1891 Argentine after buying the bayonet for $20 in 2008/9ish.  I love the 1909's bayonet lug.  For some reason, it just looks very elegant.

Gorgeous shape. No pictures as I’m away from it for a few days. Even cleaning rod matches.   Had the original green leather sling with it even.

The original 1909 short sword was what pushed me over making the deal on it.  Don’t see them often. And I already have a nice 1891 and a 1909 carbine.

The machining quality on those old guns is unbelievable.  You can barely see the intersection between the receiver and the bolt release lever on my 1891.
