Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Military Retired Pay 1099R Error

I posted this in the Hall of Heroes and wanted to be sure my Iowa Brothers and Sisters were aware of this issue. For those lucky enough to me retired military you may want to check the Payor ID on the hardcopy 1099R that was mailed to you.  Seems that some of them are missing a digit and will cause errors when you go to file.  The copy you get from MyPay seems to be GTG.  I compared mine and the hardcopy mailed had a Payor's Federal ID number as 34-072761 but the copy on MyPay has 34-0727612.  Hopefully this can save you some headaches this tax season.

Thanks Irish...I know you dealt with the financial side of the military before you retired and there are many on here who are either retired or still serving.  Great information to have for this upcoming tax season.
