Then they got in a huge quantity of Federal "White Box" 9mm 115gr FMJ. Limit 1 per family per day $14.99/50rds + Tax = Hard Pass.

It's about gone, too.

Went to PSA Columbia this morning. They open at 10am on Sundays, I got there at 10:15am and a line waiting to get in. I drove on.

Stopped at Sportsman's Warehouse, not much there. Large stack of .40 S&W Winchester PDX ammo at $30 for 20rds

With the exception of birdshot and some FUDD calibers Simpson Hardware is stripped clean of ammo.

They do have some 9mm FMJ/JHP in the safe but you have to buy a handgun to get it and the limit is one box only.

Smart thinking for new gun buyers.  Shooters Choice was out when I bought my Glock 17.

I was their yesterday at simpson. I guess someone wanted more then one box and one of employees was saying something to line of why would anyone buy in bunk maybe just to sell. I was like why does it matter what he want to do with ammo.

Simpson's ammo shelves continue to be empty.

I also noticed that they raised the price of all S&W pistol magazines to $40 each regardless of type. Some of those mags are now double what they cost 2 weeks ago. Makes me glad I stacked 'em during salad days.

This morning (Black Friday) customers were greeted to the sight of empty ammo shelves and the only firearms on sale were SCCY's for the rich and vibrant price of $219.

My son went to Shooters Choice on Wednesday and picked up his silencer they were holding for him.  He said they had pallets of 9mm and I got the Black Friday email advertising it.  At .70 cents per round.....took a hard pass on that one.

With tax that's $37.80 a box/50. But they are allowing a 5 box purchase limit.

Took doggo to Simpsons today for her daily socialization (free dog biscuits). The ammo shelves were still empty yet a crowd of people 5-6 persons deep is standing around waiting for the opportunity to ask if they 'got any ammoz'.

Yesterday I spoke with two of the guys who work the gun dept. at Simpsons. They said that requests for common caliber ammunition (9/380/223-556) account for about 80% of both floor traffic and phone calls.

Even when a potential customer sees the empty ammo shelves they still ask.

I was in the Lexington Walmart a couple days ago. Not a single box of ANY kind of ammunition in the store. Even the cheap shotgun bird shot was gone. Never seen it this bare ever, even at the height of past panics.

Was in there Sunday and it’s as bare as I’ve ever seen

Sometime on Wed. Simpsons put out a single case of Privi Partizan M855 ($9.99/20 limit one box). Didn't last long. I wandered in there around 2pm and there were two boxes left. I grabbed one and seconds later someone else grabbed the last one.

As I walked around the store (looking at women in yoga pants what can I say?) I noticed that at least 5-6 other persons had a single box of that ammo among their purchases. This should give you an idea of just how quickly a case of ammo....sold at 1 box limit...flies off the shelf. That single case of 5.5 was likely put on sale less than an hour prior.

I just got back from visiting family in KY.  I hit 19 gun shops in 5 states—SC, NC, TN, KY and OH.

Buds Guns was the only place that had any 5.56 and they wanted $799.99 for a 900rd case.  Didn’t find a single box of 9mm or .22LR .

This drought is worse than the post-Sandy Hook Panic

For the first time in several weeks Simpsons finally got in some ammo: a single case of PMC Bronze 55gr FMJ.

$7.99/box limit one per family per day. The case was already half gone when I grabbed a box and given how others were getting their 20-rd ration I'd say it was likely sold out inside of 10 minutes.

Went by PSA Fernandina today just to see the current situation. Fair crowd at 11am, but not panic mode. I do not think news of the GA senate races has gotten out yet, or the ramifications are not understood. PSA ammo is hopeless, a few odd boxes of Fudd calibers and some shotshells. Still plenty of hand gun and AR magazines, they still have the Magpul Gen 2 30 rd AR mags for $9.99 in good quantity. I did not look closely at what AR brands are in stock, but numbers wise still quite a few in the racks. Fudd guns look normal, other than shorter barrel shot guns are gone.

Since it is close by, I checked out Lawmen's as well. I have bought tons of stuff there over the years, I have never seen it looking so bleak firearms wise. Maybe 15-18 handguns total, a half dozen AR's. That is it in the entire store. Ammo pretty much bare, a few boxes of 5.56mm hi dollar premium stuff, couple boxes of .45 ACP, that is it. They still have a few magazines, but Glock hi cap 9mm's are gone, some Sig and S&W left. I have never seen them so picked over, and that is a big store which makes it look even worse.

I missed this at the end of last month, but it appears Sportsmans Warehouse was acquired by Bass Pro/Cabelas.

I suspect Sportmans out of stock conditions will continue.

I was in there earlier this morning and got my one per person. It's 0930 now. Given how people were in there taking potato pics of it and texting their friends I'm betting it's gone in an hour.

Went by PSA on Fernandina today looking for a couple of AR parts, (which they didn't have; peg was empty.) Man, the place looked like I had just missed their 70% off sale.

More empty pegs and shelves than stocked ones relating to guns, ammo, ar/ak parts, etc. They still had barrels full of $9.99 pmags though. Store was moderately crowded but not slammed for 1 pm in the afternoon.

I ventured into PSA on Fernandina this afternoon to pick up some P mags for my son.  All 3 of the 55 gallon drums were dry. Had to come home and mail order them for him . While I was there I couldn’t pass up another Glock 17/5 gen and they had genuine HK MP5 mags for $70.  Of course I had to grab another one of those if nothing else for speculation.
