Hey Guys,

I'm looking to hire an Inventory Supervisor for a small warehouse in Austin TX. I work for a National Construction company out of Florida and we have a site in Austin where I am turning over some staff.

Its a great opportunity for someone young and tech savvy who doesn't mind a challenge and loves the idea of taking ownership of his own stuff. This person would be directly responsible for about $150K worth of inventory at any given time and would have a lot of room to grow with us. If you know of someone who might be a good fit please send me a message. I can pay pretty well (even in today's crazy market) and it would be a full time gig with benefits and a pretty laid back atmosphere.

I prefer to hire good, conservative individuals with a solid work ethic so I'm posting it here.

Mods: Sorry if if this is the wrong place to post - I've had some success posting for other positions in different HTF's.

South Austin - right by the US35 and 71 interchange. I think the area it's by is technically south / east Congress

Unfortunately that might as well be on the other side of the world from most people I know...  I'm north by Pflugerville. Ben White and South Congress area which is where I think you mean can be an hour plus drive each way during rush hour these days.

From where I live it is practically IN San Antonio...  You could probably get there quicker from Selma or New Braunfels than you could from Pflugerville.

I was worried about proximity for people. It's always a challenge understanding commutes and what is acceptable in a given market...

I totally understand that.  Austin commutes have gotten exponentially worse in the last 20 years as the population has more than doubled, while the road infrastructure has not kept up.  And road infrastructure has been poorly (almost intentionally due to the libtard controlled city and county governments) so that commutes to and from certain places are much worse than others.

If it were closer to the SH130 toll road commutes from far north would be less of an issue.  But right now road costruction along 71 around the airport makes getting back west from where the toll road hooks in problematic.

I'm personally not really looking but that position would have been something I'd maybe push my wife to look at if it were within 15-20 minutes.  She's "retired" from the state, but she's nowhere near getting SS, and her pension is only a fraction what she used to get.  We could really use the $$$ if she would go back to work, plus I work from home and she's F'ing driving me crazy rambling around the house all the time.  Before she retired it wasn't so bad, but the makes a lot of noise and interrupts me which makes it hard to work.  Then bitches when I have to work extra hours to make up for the hours of distractions she causes....    I really need to get her out of the house for 8 hours a day so I can concentrate.  I loved working from home before she retired but I'm seriously thinking about taking a different job where I have to go in to an office somewhere just to get some peace...

Man I know what you are talking about....  It is killing me.

I've suggested I need to find a co-working location or something and she gets all weepy about how I don't want to spend time with her...  WTF?  We're together nearly 24 hours a day!  I just need 8 hours of sleep and 8 hours of quiet so I can work.  And I can't do that when she wants to watch Judge Judy and Jerry Springer and play with the dog, etc., etc. etc...  And ask me questions every 10-15 minutes.  I keep saying...  It has to be like if I was at the office.  If it wouldn't be worth calling me on the phone to ask me...  don't.  Even when I was working she called too often.  More than once a day is just too many disruptions, more than twice way too many.

I remember when coming into town on 71 and the airport was small.

Going through that part now is unrecognizable just a decade later.

My last job was inventory specialist for the the state of Texas. I vouch for TLF. If he can't do it, I can't. I'd apply but I'm retired and hate Austin, and any other big city for that matter.
eta: When I say I vouch for him, I mean, when I retired I had almost 1000 employees. I am a good judge of character. I have known him for several years. He is technically proficient, an early riser. He knows himself and seeks self improvement. He is a great young man. I do not vouch for just anyone, especially on a forum. I have given many more negative references than positive. I know you don't know me, but my word is my bond. I'm sure many of my in real life friends here will say the same.

Just now seeing this.

Thanks, brother. I greatly appreciate it.

Was in FL over a long weekend and had hell getting back to Texas.

I'm interested if there's more than one position available, like in the warehouse/yard or something, really hating my current job.

I vouch for TLF as well, have broken bread with him many times, and he used to live in my neighborhood.

ETA- Not trying to cockblock anybody, I'm only interested if there is any other positions available.

Hey all,

Thanks very much for your interest! I was able to hire someone (from the site!) To fill the position.

I will keep you all in mind for additional work of it comes up in the very near future, which could happen with the pace of construction currently!
