I’m planning to have an addition built onto my house outside of Asheville. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good company to get a quote from?

Still looking for good company. I also need a construction engineer if anyone knows of one.

I don't know how things are in Asheville; but I can't imagine they're much better than what we're seeing over here near Winston.
We had to almost beg a reputable GC to put us on his list for a small couple hundred sq. ft. remodel last September.
We gave him complete freedom with the schedule since we weren't in a hurry.
Now, as of mid March, we're about 95% done and the work should be completed in the next couple of weeks.

Lumber prices, along with everything else is through the roof. We've been plagued by supply shortages and settling for second best because what we wanted wasn't going to be available for six plus months.
We had wood flooring quotes that were twice what they should have been. We're seeing subs throw numbers up against the wall for quotes that are well above any price range I or the GC would have predicted last year.
The market is crazy right now.

Unless you really need the addition right now, I'd put it off. You're going to pay top dollar for labor and materials right now; and it won't be done anytime soon.

I know everything is high right now. I just don’t know that it’s going to get better. I don’t absolutely need it now but I will by next year. Although the way it’s going, it maybe next year before I can get someone to do it.
