Wife was served with a summons for a credit card debt.
She never applied for, used or received a bill for this credit card.
The summons is the first we've heard of it.
Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced lawyer to deal with this?
Thanks.

That sucks, thieves suck.

Glad to hear it's not too serious, because I didn't think a reasonable lawyer was the right way to go.  Reasonably-priced, yes.

Identity theft sucks.  Sadly, most credit card companies and debt collectors treat the victims like criminals.

Usually they can tell that it is fraud, but they make the victim prove it.  Even then it is hard to get them to let the victim off the hook.

This may help a little...

I don’t know what “reasonably priced” means. But if I were in Houston and needed a lawyer I’d go straight to Larry Rothenberg. Great, personable guy, and superbly smart lawyer.
