Headed for the bourbon trail for our anniversary, stayed in Louisville last year, not gonna happen this year.

Looking for something nice and clean, Frankfort or Lexington. Don't know anything about the area hoping for some suggestion, restaurants welcome as well.

I made a thread last year but can't find it.

Thanks for your help

Frankfort has a nice Hampton inn and holiday inn express on the west side of town

Both are located near a lot of restaurants and stores if you need something

A lot of things to see in the area.  Distilleries and winery in the area.

Downtown Lexington will have Tony's and Jeff Ruby's steakhouses.

The James Pepper distillery is about 5 minutes from Tony's heading toward the western side of Lexington.

If you stay in Frankfort, you'll be pretty close to the Woodford Reserve Distillery.

Although I am a loyal Hilton Honors guy - the HIEx in Frankfort is my preference due to the walking distance of Longhorn in the same parking lot.  However if the LEX area is also an option then the Hilton Garden Inn Georgetown is a good choice as well (another restaurant - Cattlemen's - in parking lot).

As long as you stay on East end of Louisville your fine.  I live over here.

What about Bardstown? We stayed there in a nice B&B once visiting distilleries and there is some good food there as well.

Bourbon Manor Bed & Breakfast Inn - A little pricey but very nice and very conveinant.

Even if you stay elsewhere eat at Mammy's Kitchen & Bar and/or Old Talbott Tavern. Both are great food.

Frankfort is a ghost town right now due to our Democrat Governor having most state workers work from home.  Not too many places to eat there but the city is a good central location for hitting a bunch of distilleries.  Traffic is very light and lodging should be plentiful.

Serafini in downtown Frankfort will be as fancy/upscale as you will find there.

The Capitol Plaza Hotel is the only real hotel there.  It's ok but I would call it nice like the hotels in downtown Louisville.

Bourbon on Main is the go to place for drinks.

Buffalo Trace Distillery is right down town.  They have been promoting their tours pretty hard lately.

Woodford Reserve Distillery is about 15 minutes from Frankfort.

I probably mentioned it in your thread last year.  If wineries and tastings are on the list of things to see and do our favorite place is https://www.wildsidewinery.com/.  It is located outside of Versailles and sort of between Woodford and Wild Turkey distilleries.
