Getting the kids their first puppy. Looking for a good quality veterinarian. Not somebody just for giving shots but somebody who will actually work with us for the long term health of the dog.
Live in NoVA. Would like to stay in north manassas, Gainesville, centreville, Chantilly, western Fairfax areas if possible. I know of Pender but have heard mixed things about them. Anybody have any recommendations? |

VCA Herndon-Reston.
We used to go to Pender. Dislike Banfield of any variety. VCA Alexandria is really good but really out of your desired area. |

We’ve been very happy with Pet Lovers Animal Hospital in Fairfax.
When we were in Manassas we liked Morgana Animal Clinic on Liberia, but that was almost ten years ago. Good on you for getting the kids a pup OP 👍🏼 HTH |

We've gone to Caring Hands in Centreville for a very long time. They are fantastic, could not recommend them higher.

Stonewall Veterinary Clinic in Gainsville.
Dr. Liv is a friend of mine, she saved me about $8,000 in unnecessary vet bills when my previous vet wanted to do some surgery, turned out my dog had Lymes disease. We started driving the extra distance ever since then. The other vet's we have seen there have been great too. Dr. Martinez made some simple dietary suggestions for one of our dogs that had helped her to lose some weight and keep it off for several years now. We've also seen Dr. Faus and Dr. Kelly and really liked them as well. https://stonewallvet.com/ |

Most of the them will try at home remedies first before prescribing medications. |

Just to update. Stonewall is not taking any new patients/accounts/customers right now. Went to caring hands or whatever in centreville. Had to wait a couple of weeks for an appointment.
Not sure I’m going to stick with them or not. Tried talking with them about the shot schedule based upon what the breeder recommended and the vet didn’t care. I get that. The strange thing was we didn’t really talk much about spaying/neutering but for me saying we would do it at some point but wanted to wait until the pup was about a year old. A couple of days later I get an email and text saying my dog was scheduled for surgery?? WTF?? The pup will be 4 months old. Not sure what that is all about. I need to call them to figure what is up. |
