Not the answer you are looking for but you might be able to find someone who does non destructive weld testing and have them x-ray it.

I took a pistol frame to a Magnaflux place in Charlotte a few years ago.
They were ok with my request. I cannot remember the place but I just googled for the service

Matthews or Concord area?  Concord is Flaw Tech.  The guy that owns the one in Matthews, his name is Hussein.  Flaw Texh might hook you up if you call in advance. Theyre all digital, if I'm remembering correctly from their recent ASNT event.  I cant speak for Hussein's willingness to do an x-ray.  Can't hurt to call.
