I am going to do some volunteer range safety officer work in the Shirley Basin area first week in Sep.  I can stay out on the range but if my wife goes she is going to want something a little more comfortable.  Ideas?  No pets.  Don't smoke.  Retired fuddy duds.

I have RO'd the last 3 years and our crew always stays in Casper before and after the event.  There just isn't whole lot in between.  Depending on what you get assigned to you may be required to stay at your station through the entirety of the event.  Due to the elevation and wind it gets really cold at night and hot/high UV during the day so you will want to prepare accordingly.  Have fun!

Thanks for the replies.  Sorry I had not gotten back sooner.  Yes on the volunteer at the Q Ranch.  I rented a self contained camper so I don't have to commute anywhere.  Wife will chill in it for a few days.

Stop by the silver 3/4 ton suburban with TN tags.

Woods-landing has nice cabins and is a beautiful spot.  The bar has excellent food as well.
