Saw this on the local news last night and though "WTH???"  Doesn't this kind of go against the Hippocratic Oath regarding treating everyone equally? The narrative above doesn't cover everything said during the video. SMH. |

IMHO, it could be done without the color change, but hey, it's the "hip" thing to do, right? Not as hard-hitting without visual aids they think.
In the local news story, they said they are doing this to increase awareness of racial inequality and disparities because of the Chinaflu. ??? Read the study that I linked. There are racial disparities in the treatment of POC throughout the United States. Its really hard to retrain yourself from biases without having something to remind you to be cognizant of it. Also, I've found that most people who say they support "BLM" don't actually support all of the policy positions BLM as an organization holds. Instead they agree that there are anti-POC biases throughout society that need to be addressed.
And Yes, PoC as a demographic have been hit harder by the pandemic https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/covid-data/investigations-discovery/hospitalization-death-by-race-ethnicity.html |

Levels of implicit bias against Black, Hispanic/Latino/Latina, and dark-skinned people were relatively similar across these groups." From a practical medical standpoint it shouldn’t be allowed. On the sanitation angle if I was a patient I would question it. Just like the stylish black cloth napkins at a restaurant. Both could, and should, be seen as a cop-out way of not replacing soiled or worn items when they should be.
Anyone getting an infection after a hospital visit to a doctor wearing black scrubs could add that to the lawsuit. Plus the green or blue scrubs were settled on decades ago for the calming effect on nervous patients going into surgery. Black scrubs could be a trigger color, and again used in a lawsuit for any procedure gone wrong, as wearing black could be associated with the spectre of death. |

The BLM organization was founded on a mantra ( Hands Up Don't Shoot ) that was proven to be false. That puts me off of them from the get go. Systemic racism by definition points out the fact that the group most affected by that concept are actually white males since the establishment of the EEOC and Affirmative Action - which are both government programs that specifically disadvantage and discriminate one group in favor of multiple "classes". I see the slogan All Lives Won't Matter Until Black Lives Matter - The true slogan should be All Lives Won't Matter Until ALL Lives Matter. |
