"The proposed local law would declare Lewis County a "Second Amendment Sanctuary," which would mean the county wouldn't enforce most State gun laws,
but would still enforce any Federal gun laws. Wyoming County is currently the
only county in New York to adopt such legislation.
Specifically, the proposed law would prohibit any county employees or officials
from enforcing or using county funds to enforce unlawful gun laws, defined as
any State act, law, order, rule or regulation that restricts an individual's right to
bear arms or limits the lawful use of firearms.
The legislation would only limit enforcement to Lewis County employees, such as
the Sheriff's Office, but would not apply to agencies like the New York State
Police, NYS DEC and others."
All in all, probably doesn't do much. Still have to look out for the NYSP and the turtle cops. We have a very pro 2A sheriff who has no problem thumbing his nose at Prince Andrew. It's about time we did something instead of rolling over and playing dead.
