The final end product of changing grips and adding a T-grip.

Showed it to my old retired OHP uncle and he loved it. He told me the story of how he borrowed a nickel Bodyguard from a friend when he acted as a bodyguard for Thomas Dewey in 1947 here in Oklahoma.
He wheeled out his old 38/44 N frame he carried after WWII driving OK highways and showed it to me, along with the Model 15 he carried when he retired.
He had both reblued almost 30 years ago.
I'll take my camera with me next time I take him out to eat and see if I can get pictures of an old lawman's guns and post them here.

DPMS Bull Sweet 16, blacked out, collapsable stock with CAA cheek riser, Hogue grip, YHM free float rail, YHM flip up BUIS, SPOT (Aimpoint Clone), basic rail mounted flashlight with pressure switch, and DPMS dual mag holder.  I was planning on adding a single point sling, possible bi-pod and small laser sight before the tragic accident that took all my guns...

If you ever find a Model 65 round butt and 3" barrel, let me know. I'd like to have one.

I used to be one hell of a shot with an S&W k frame. I've shot four or five of them loose over the years.
I love revolvers. Started out shooting a Webley Mk II when I was a small kid, then graduated to a 1917 S&W, then the 1911 in my teens. Somewhere along my later teens and early twenties, I got into revolvers again of the S&W variety.
There have been occasional Colts and Rugers along the way, but I am first and foremost an S&W fan anymore.
Wingman has one really nice S&W K frame that is set up for PPC.
The guns I had set up for PPC went down the road.
Most of these guns are now my son's. I gave him a huge bunch of them after I found 'em in the bottom of my sock drawer.
He's not that much of a handgun shooter anymore, but I started him out with a S&W Model 34 when he was just 6.
And he's still hooked on them.

Banker, those are classic.
I've got an old Colt like that. They are beautiful, classy handguns.
That old H&R full stocked rifle you have reminds me of a long gone deer hunting buddy.
He had one in 30/30 that was probably the most accurate single shot at 100 yards I ever saw.
He could shoot MOA all day long with just about any 30/30 shell you put in it. He killed lots of deer with it over the years as well.
I bought my son an H&R Handigun, satin nickeled 30/30 and 20 ga barrel, when he turned 8. I cut the stock down, mounted a butt pad on it and he used it for several years.
We put a full length Choate stock on it when he got older and he still carries it sometimes as a back up deer rifle.
Anyway, nice guns!

I'm getting there, partner!
When the weather gets nice and you can get around OK, lets go pop some rounds. I'm getting a real strong itch to get closely reacquainted with my K frames.
TwoBravo sold me some 38 brass last year and I loaded up every round plus a bunch more. I've got to shoot them up so I can reload them again.

What caliber is that thumb hole stock and what type scope?

A Marlin 917v .17HMR. I bought it with the plane jane butt ugly wood stock. It shot nice but it was ugly. I got on eBay and ordered this one from a guy in Detroit. He had a few different colors and I thought this would look the best with the blued barrel. Got here today and slapped it on. I love it.
The scope is a BSA Contender. I got a hell of a deal on it from the guy I bought the rifle from. With the rifle, the stock, and the scope I am still cheaper than what I would've paid for a 917 thumbhole model.

I shot it yesterday in the wind and it did ok. I really want to get to Kansas and try it out on some prairie dogs.

Yep. Finally shelled out some cash for the LaRue. Already had one on my Remington R-15. Thinking about gettting another to put my Leupold 6.5-20x40 long range scope in it, then I could really see how accurate my AR is at distance.
