Curious if anyone has any experience renting a house at Lake Anna that is relatively convenient to get to from Dulles airport driving, and hopefully is not too far from a pontoon boat rental place. Looking to do early October. Poking around online, but figure I would ask here just in case someone has stayed there and could recommend a specific place or outfit. Would be 3 to 5 people.

Lake Anna is a pretty big area. We used to own a house in the “Windermere” section. Look on VRBO for deals. Honestly, there are a LOT of rentals available so if you look around you can usually find a really good deal for a week or more. We had the house for 10 years and just using it on the weekends, when the weather was warm, we still didn’t explore the entire lake.

As far as boat rentals, try Anna Point Marina. Again, there are other option but we always got gasoline at Anna Point because it was closest to the lake house.

Commonwealth Boat rentals they will deliver for a fee so you can make arrangements to wherever you rent a place at.  Most boat rental places won't rent to private side of lake so make sure you figure out what side of the lake its on.
