RESTORE WA. OLYMPIA UPDATE
Let’s start with some very good news from the front lines. The majority party seems now more concerned with how far they are going in a short session with an election year ahead. It is very apparent that calls and e mails from our organization and others are giving them some element of caution. So much the senate has told the house to slow things down and quit sending over so many bills. That prompted the very unusual move of shutting down the house floor activity early on Friday , off on Saturday, and back on Sunday. This means a lot less bills getting voted out. Cutoff is Wednesday the 19th for original house bills to pass. The most controversial bills are yet to come in the next few days before cutoff.
We have also been told the senate may not have the same appetite for those controversial bills as the house so they will either die in the opposite house or be amended. This trend is even evident in the house where several major bills have been renegotiated to make them more balanced.
The point of all this is your consistent communications are making folks in Olympia nervous. Our suggestion is to keep it up. If there is a bill in either house you are concerned about, let them have it via phone or e mail. It does not matter your district or the party affiliation. They are getting a message and it’s changing the course of things for the better."

That's some decent news.  I just emailed the Representatives regarding opposing HB 2240 tomorrow.

My wife and I will keep up the pressure and encourage friends and family to do the same.

Dems nervous? Never. They know that can just come back year after year with the same bills. Eventually they're going to get more through
