Perhaps we could keep it for now, and you could remove anyone who doesn't want to remain on it.

I had the same thought as well. I figured I'd let everyone weigh in, possibly make a new one vs edit the old one. I know about 20 of the names on the current one that are either no longer active/banned, deceased, or want to be deleted from it. Was weighing which was easiest course of action. |

Simple to nuke it. If you’re going to keep it and maintain it (I’m sure lots of info on that list is no longer correct) then it’ll be constant work.

Seems to me the simplest way to go would be to nuke it and start it over fresh for anyone that wants to be on it. I don't mind being on it but to clean it up would be a lot of work.

Lots of info out of date/incorrect. We'll see how the poll does but if we don't nuke it entirely I'll start with a fresh one that has up to date info for those that want to be on it. I feel like if we can get people back in here and talking more we'll all have a better idea of where everyone is anyway. I always just ask if anyone is in a certain area if I have a question vs looking at the locator thread. |

I guess it would depend on how many people want to be removed as to whether that would be more work than nuking it and starting over. I know there would be entire months with no edits when I was maintaining it, it was always a voluntary thing. What might lean more towards nuking it is the historical basis, as long as the thread is maintained, older posts will still be out there, unless people go back and edit out their info themselves in the posts. It IS useful for people trying to get together.

I voted to keep it. If members want to be removed, they can do so or we can start a fresh slate. City and county is helpful for members looking for members in the area. We still have the 1A and liberty for free assembly...leave that as an option. I can understand concerns, but if you have an AR15.com account and username, posting your county and city isn't really that big of deal when your IP address (and no, VPNs aren't really that safe to certain tools) is going to rat you out more than your tag here. Honestly, if you're afraid of the member locator (user-name/county/city), you probably should just cancel your ARFCOM account altogether...

....Nuke from orbit and start fresh if people want it.. .....Option on just 'hiding' it so it's there but not visible unless turned back 'on' if that's a thing..... |

It's voluntary. While I think nuking is a tad much, I do think we need a refresh. Clean off the list, notify all members to update if they want their identifier and city/county listed. Some have valid reasons for more anonymity which is fine, but several of us don't mind staying listed as a local contact.
