I chose not to spend the extra coin for prints in August when I submitted my aplication. It all depends are you willjng to wait an extra 30 days?

I did prints because I have a common name.  The State Police have confused me with others before, didn't want it happening again.

As the law currently stands, prints are optional with your application.

No prints seem to be running around 90-100 days although they legally have up to 120.

They have 90 days to do with prints, but they've shown some improvements lately with print applications reported to be  coming back in 40ish or under instead of 60.

So, it's up to you if the extra cost is worth it.

If you get an LE objection and you go under board review, then it kind of doesn't matter.   Are you in Cook County?

Unless they've changed the process the prints probably won't fix that issue.

Thanks, this will be the 3rd state I've lived in and had a permit so life shouldn't change that much. I just wish it had the same cost and processing times as Virginia or Washington.

When I lived in Illinois I didn't get prints done. Took 3 months for my permit to arrive.
