I'm just curious...what is price of gas and diesel in Alaska currently?
Does it cost more in inner area away from city? How much price difference? Here in South Florida gas and diesel price has been dropping for past 4-5 weeks. Here is today's price at Shell station in Miami: Regular - $3.27 Plus - $3.63 Premium - $3.89 Diesel - $4.65 Back in mid-July it was higher: Regular - $4.05 Plus - $4.41 Premium - $4.71 Diesel - $5.25 |

About $4.39 for regular in Fairbanks.
Highest I saw this summer was $10/gallon at a lodge on the denali highway. But remoteness and proximity to other stations certainly plays a role. ETA heating oil is what’s really going to kill people this winter. If you have a big inefficient house it’s real easy to spend $1,000 a month in heating oil at $5/gallon. |

Did not pay attention to gas prices, but diesel was $4.79/gal this morning. Noticed the propane was $3.80/gal!

  That was in Kobuk this summer. I am paying $6.69 at the cheapest station. Diesel is $7 I think. Will have to look close. Aviation gas is $10a gal. Stove oil is around $6 a gal. Propane is almost $11 a gal. |

$5.12 today at the un-staffed Tesoro by my house in Palmer. It's usually 5 cents or so higher than the other stations in town but I didn't go by them.

$4.89 at vitus gas in Chugiak. Shell is about $5.49 they're usually a bit higher than anybody else.

Chevron has been raising their prices on average about 20 cents a gallon per day recently. $5.59 yesterday per gallon.

Went up $1 with the hurricane. Paid $5.19 today in fairbanks.

It was $5.09 at 3Bears on Pitman. We filled the truck in ANC, Costco, for $4.85 per gal.
The joke at the gas pump was how something so far away in FL could cause our gas price to go up so fast. |
