I just ran across this on the Jefferson County Sheriff's home page: The Sheriff’s Office is not currently accepting any new CCW applications, or doing any fingerprints. We are handling CCW renewals, but are not allowing more than two people in our lobby at a time, to provide for social distancing. Does anyone know what this is about? Is it because of COVID? How can they just not accept new applications? BTW, I'm not in need of a new application, I just stumbled upon this bit of information. |

Jackson County is doing this as well. Plus, Jackson has long made it a PITA to even get an appointment. SO now they just stop. And when they do start taking apps again, I bet the back log is going to rival Form 4 waits.
 I might email Jameson as well. Wonder if a Class Action thing could happen. I don't understand how they can just Not do what the Law says they are to do. |
