So glad I'm not working it any more.

If you are, stay low.

This is one of the few times in the last 20 years that I haven’t had to be there. I ain’t complaining.

I am guessing it would be inappropriate to post pictures of Liberians with AK's and Kapok life vests....

Extra help this year is way down. Only around an extra 200.

Just depends on which bike week it is. That tells you if it will or wont be a problem.

I think everyone was distracted with the virus. I hope it stays quiet.

I took this picture over there 6 years ago today.

It’s not officially “Bike Week”, but last weekend a bunch of people showed up and showed out, including a shooting. Now everyone is in a panic to get set for this weekend, just in case.

Yeah, but that’s this week’s shooting. Try to keep up.

Lol, black bike week “Memorial Day/Atlantic Beach” bike week has been pushed back to Labor Day this year, The Spring Rally (Harley) has been pushed back to a week in mid July. Nowhere near the crowds this past weekend. Spent the day at the beach on the north end today and didn’t see a single bike. Haven’t seen the incoming traffic like we get this weekend every year (starts picking up Wednesday and get heavier through Friday) all in all this weekend is the average late spring/summer weekend there.

I used to spend a lot of time at MB back in the mid-90's.

In '98 I made my way out there sometime in late September or early October...when folks are allowed to ride horses out there. With the crowds gone I got to see just how dingy and trashy things really were...the "Scooby Doo Ghost Town" thing.

I packed up my stuff and drove South to MB State Park. Other than Pawley's Island or Huntington Beach State Park I have ventured no closer to MB since that day. Sick of it.

Myrtle Beach is caught between a rock and a hard place. The money comes from tourism. The violence also comes from tourism. This wasn't the case until MB had Mayors and city managers that were soft. PD were fired for raising their voices or doing more than 5 mph over the speed limit. Prior to that, it was known that MBPD were heavy handed. Our normal local violence is centered around Longs and Loris well outside of the city.
