If you’re referring to the one at the Guard Armory, the last one I went to was pretty small but it’s been a while since I went to one there.
Looks like parking is free and entrance is only $5 though, I’d say it’s worth a shot if you’re not too far from it. I’d expect the line to be shorter than the 1500 for sure.
Maybe I’ll even go for a change.

Just realize that when I said small, I mean small. Like 2 buildings and a hallway, but you can yell from one end and someone would hear you fine from the opposite end small.
Looking back, the last time I went to that one was 2013 or 2014 though, so it could be totally different now. I just don't want to lead you wrong if you're coming a long way for it.

[edit:] If my back is doing OK tomorrow when I get up I'll likely go, just so you're not the only one taking a chance.

At the show now, it’s a lot busier than I expected. I brought a shotgun to sell and it went before I even made it through the first building.
