I'll admit I don't go to Nashville for fun much but the things I'd recommend to you like the Grand Ole Opry may be sold out. Look them up to see. Also if you've never seen the Opryland hotel it is an overlooked marvel in itself to just go and walk around. There are several nice restaurants in there and most hotels in the area run a shuttle to there and Opry Mills if you don't want to hassle with traffic. Opry Mills can get pretty vibrant once the sun goes down. The local criminal element likes the easy pickings of the tourists.
The Ryman auditorium is also nice to see.
If you'd asked far enough in advance I'd have told you to avoid Nashville altogether and get a cabin at Fall Creek Falls or Rovk State Parks and see some pretty country and avoid the big city hustle but that's more my style.
Post up your general interests and maybe folks will have some other ideas.

The bluebird is an overblown greasy spoon for tourists and affluent folks from Franklin who have never turned on the stove in your kitchen. I can take you to a dozen  family owned diners up my way that will blow the bluebird out of the water food quality wise. Same goes for pucketts
