(And this may be an inappropriate question but I'm only asking hypothetically, in the hypothetical scenario sense for purely educational purposes)

Does any local here know how to home-synthesize detonating compounds for a purely defensive role?

I'm not suggesting actually making any, but given the present state of affairs, it might be knowledge that will come in handy one day. Again, for educational purposes.
