Some folks might be a bit hesitant to reach out to a "cold call" from a stranger regarding such a request these days op, no offense.

You might be right, but I made a similar request concerning other guns a few years ago and we did a meet-up at a local range. It gave me an opportunity to compare different guns that I was thinking about. I gave the guy some ammo in appreciation. There are many safe locations to shoot and compare guns here in Alabama, and in my experience, there are many people who would be willing to help with a request like this, but of course, location and schedule need to align.
