Canaveral National Seashore is nice. Playalinda is on the Titusville side. It's $20 to get in for the day though. Or you can buy an annual pass for $40.

You're close to Cocoa Beach and the Volusia beaches too. No entry free in Volusia unless you want to drive on the beach. Depends what else you want to do while you're there. Flagler Ave in NSB is fun. Winterhaven Park in Ponce Inlet is on the quieter side.

Canaveral Natl Seashore/Playalinda isn't too far from KSC. Not sure if you live in Titusville or if you're just visiting. But downtown Titusville (rt 1) is pretty nice too. Some small shops/bars/breweries/restaurants.

Skip Playalinda- unless you wanna go past Lot 13 and see the leather bag nude sunbathers- and go to Cocoa Beach. Park at Ron Jon's Surf shop and walk over.

Playalinda is great. There is never a crowd, when I've been there, and if you are military, or a vet, they'll give you a pass right at the guardpost. Free entry into ALL National parks in the country.

There's another entrance to Canaveral Natl Seashore at the south end of A1A in NSB as well. The beaches there are usually a lot less crowded than the public Volusia beaches. That side also has some hiking trails.
