Where can I drop these off. A lot of places say gently used but these are paperbacks so the spine obviously has marks from turning the pages.

I know I could probably do Goodwill or savers

Do you have the little 'libraries in a box' around you? We have a bunch where I live and I've been going out in the evening and dropping off books into them.

Find a used book store, sell them there and then donate the proceeds to your favorite charity.
