Spent the last two days driving out to a vendor just outside D.C. like I do about every 5-6 weeks.

Each time I get to play with a tank or other cool military item.  One of the perks I guess.

I ask if they have a British Centurion tank since it is one of the very few I have never been inside and played with.  They tell me yea, we are working on one in the lower bay. Drive on down and take a look.



Ok, cool.  I can't drive it like usual but get to climb inside and play with it.

Then I get back in my truck and look forward and there it is........



A) This is not a random photo from the 1950s Germany.
B) It isn't a Leopard I as commonly stated, it is a Centurion Mk17
C) It is about 20 minutes West of D.C.
D) I took this about 10:30am yesterday morning so it is about as current as you can get.

Never got to see a meme in the wild before. Thought I would share.

E) That is not a 17 pdr rifled barrel.
F) That is not a 20 pdr rifled barrel.
G) That appears to be one serious looking 105mm L55 rifled barrel.

I asked the repair guys about that as well.
Looked too big to be a 17 pounder. It was the 105mm.

If it has a raised engine deck, an M48/M60 engine is likely on board (a Patturion).  The Israelis were known to install such gun and engine improvements.
