About a month back wife unit surprised me on my return from training to a dog.
A local guy was giving away puppies.
GSD/rott mix.
Fast forward to yesterday.
Wife runs into friends of that guy.
Seems there was a group of rainbows that kinda camped out locally. Then left..the GSD they had was left or ran off.
Local guy takes in GSD...who turns out to be preggers.
After weaning the pups off her the GSD runs off.
Fucking hippy dogs.

Least something has come out good from them bumming around lol.

Csb i know.

So few people will have any clue what you are talking about.  I know that was kind of the idea.

I'm starting a poll.  Do you have a clue what protus is talking about?

I will start.

Yes, unfortunately I do.

I am pretty sure that this has something to do with the Ocala national forest.

Yep. Familiar with the rainbow people. A couple times a year a group of them will migrate east along SR40 and end up at the beach here in Ormond.

Interesting.  I was not aware that they migrated east.

Where do they stay and what do they do when they get to the ocean?

Youll see them set up shop at 40 and 95..hitch hike west to the ONF or head east.
Last year wasnt to bad.... compared to  years past.
They pretty much destroy everything they touch.
Its full blown stinky hippy fest..aka mud and stink by the tine they leave.
Except for burning up the forest out by 65/314/88 ,shanty pond area.
Locals love them

I was asking where they set up in Ormond Beach.  I can't imagine the City putting up with much of that.

Makes sense that they would be around I95/40 as 40 is a straight shot to the forest.

Big homeless group out off 40. OBPD just drives by while they beg.
Any of the river side park harbor them as well.
Casements etc youll see them as well.
Wouldnt surprise me to see small groups by gamble rogers.
But normally rainbows are big groups..not 5-10...here and there. And the set up shop for months........

I haven’t encountered any true rainbow folk this year, but they typically only come into town for a few days at a time.  They travel by vehicle (yes a few of them own vehicles) and usually camp overnight on the beach approaches or any other beachside parking lots. They come for the beach and the only real complaints we see is when they’re caught rinsing off in the resort pools.

In response to the comment about “OBPD just driving by while they beg”... you can thank the 11th Circuit US Court of Appeals for their recent ruling in Toombs v. City of Miami. That case set a precedent resulting in cities all over Florida to re-evaluate their panhandling ordinances. We have been instructed by our city legal department to stop arresting panhandlers for municipal ordinance violations until further notice.
