Make sure you run them generators.
Did tuneups on mine today and cut some branchs away from the house also.

Be safe everyone. Here's a web app (map) I put together to mashup different sources of information that may be of use to many of you short term. I'm trying to drop it in some of the different forums in case anyone needs it.

I am in FL and during Irma we used a Zello app to help out each other if needed by a brother ARFCOMER

I have set up a channel on zello it is called NC Florence

log into zello.com and download the app as of now there is no password

So if there is a need for help or you can help out a fellow Arf brother or sister you can

Please be safe

Tell me if this should have it's own Thread posted here

I'm not finding your channel.  Is the spelling correct?

I've got ARFCOM NC up as a backup.

I have a buddy who has a place that is coastal in NC in a mandatory evac zone. He is here in PA and lives here full time. This is his first storm as he just had his place built a few months ago and he wants me to take my truck and trailer with plywood and board up his place, leave tonight.

He knows some neighbors but cannot get ahold of them to see if you can get into the areas that have mandatory evacuations. We are wondering if it is possible to get into the coastal areas to do the work?

Thanks for any advice.

My sisters are in Winston Salem. Hoping for the best.

Deep Run/Pink Hill/Kinston area checking in.

Gas stations running out of fuel. Water gone.

We ate the last of our ice cream tonight.

Download the ‘GasBuddy’ app. It’s pretty accurate. Helped alot of folks during Hurricane Harvey last year.

I can assure you our Texas and Louisiana refineries are keeping the cat crackers wide open to make sure lines and tankers are constantly headed y’all way.

God Speed.

In Fuquay, the Sheetz have gas but limited on premium. The Food Lion on Hilltop Needmore road got a shipment of water yesterday, how much is left is unknown.

Please make sure you have the elderly or anyone who requires certain medical devices (ie oxygen or other devices) taken care of. EMS will not run if the wind speeds get above a certain level, and fire departments will respond at their discretion of the Chief.

Gas has run up anywhere from 4 cents per gallon to 15 cents per gallon in Charlotte.  Doesn't look like any are making a run on gas so far.  Just topped off the truck and a few gas cans.  With as much as I mow, I needed the gas anyway.

We left yesterday from Wilmington.  The traffic was horrible.

We were all prepared over the weekend but made the ultimate decision to leave. We ar in Richmond VA then headed to N. Ba for the weekend. Who knows when we will be able to get back.

We just bought our new home this time last year. Very sad. Hope we have bo damage.

The crazy part was to get the ATF to approve my 5320.20 in 24 hours soi could take my SBRs with me.  Which Phillip and Ted Cutter got it done for me. Very nice people there.

Yall stay safe.

To be completely transparent, I am not trying to make any money off of these. The company I work for has about 10 in stock at my location, just wanted to pass it along to those who need it. Pep Boys Glenwood Raleigh.

4500 watt Max, 3500 watt sustained. $599.99 I'm doing 10% off for forum members.

I do not make any money off these. At this price I am not making any money for my company. I do not care about profits for them, it's about trying to get people what they need.

Duke Power plans to shut down its two nuke plants in the Wilmington area about 2 hours before Flo hits landfall. Expectations are that electricity will be off for WEEKS due to flooding, wires, poles, and towers down, and infrastructure damaged. Act accordingly. Stay safe, y'all!

Update:

UPDATE: 1700 Hours

One model is predicting potential of 40+ inches of rain:

My in-laws are being optimistic (stupid) and staying despite their kids and my opposition. They live at ~8' elevation in Washington NC 300yds from the Pamlico. I'm hoping the leave tomorrow am for my wife's brother in DC. They're not prepared at all, and don't own guns. They're carpet baggers from upstate NY, and this will probably shake them into reality... Fuck. They live in a 130yo house across from section 8...

I already told my boss I may need the week off for cleaning up.

Checking in from Roxboro, we have a home on Topsail Island we evacuated today.

I joined the Zello, I'll try to check in to get a pulse.

I have posted in GD but, as we all know its GD...I'll check here first to see if anyone closeby needs help and give an AAR.

I also have a Zello up, Topsail Island Florence.

Lets hope for minimal damage for the entire state.

Sam

For anyone bugging in.  Fill your trashcans with water.  They won't blow away and you can use it to flush your toilets.

We were going to evacuate the wife and kids until Flo took a huge left turn.

I'm going to end up needing recon for an address in Mimosa Bay.. Sneads Ferry. If anyone can get in there afterwards, I'll provide the address.
It's my dad's house.. He's in Virginia  now... He's 83... I don't want him going back. I will need a report before I leave from Pittsburgh in a week or two.

I'll bring you an ice cold case of beer or whatever supplies you need.

I'm at work now off of Glenwood Avenue, and we had power flash a few times but it's back up now. We're also not on the main node so we have less than optimal power supply here because of that.
