Haven’t eaten at one in ages so wife and I decided to stop in.

We were greeted by two huge no firearms signs complete with the phrase “As authorized by T.C.A. § 39-17-1359.”

Never going back and I sent a similar message to their corporate comments page.

Is this company wide?

It’s rare you see them anywhere in these parts...

Got a reply from corporate and apparently this is a franchise owner’s decision not corporate policy.

Need to find out who owns this one.

Must be a carpetbagging owner, IMO. I would doubt a local would do this to ensure his business lacks customers.

I eat there a few times a month, the food is decent and there is hardly ever a crowd. They really don't need to be running off customers. More variety of better food is only 10 minutes north in Cookeville.

I agree, service was really good the lone lady waiting tables was a rockstar, amazing job. Food was hot and very satisfying.

But fuck the franchise policy...

I used to go to Cookeville in the 1960s, taking my cousin back to Tech. There was ONE place in town that sold beer & had dancing. ONE. The Holiday Inn of all places.

I think there were like four restaurants entirely in town then, all mom & pop joints. Compare that to now.

Yep. Every other huddle house I’ve seen has absolutely no signage whatsoever.

Even saw one of the cooks open carrying - back before covid when they were still open at like 2am etc.

It’s why we pick them over Waffle House. WH’s ban is a corporate decision.

Most posted signs I see aren't legal anyways, there is a reason they have specifications
