Look around you. The current scheme isn't working out very well for us.
RCV *could* allow a third party to become viable without dooming us to DNC takeover. It also would allow us to actually express our opinion on each candidate.
Imagine if every candidate could get a vote of -1, 0, or 1. Or if we had three votes (a -1, a 0, and a 1) to give to the three candidates we most wanted to weigh in on.
This *could* work out well for us. The current system, however, is almost useless, as we are watching it unfold right now.
YMMV.

The current system works perfectly fine. The problem is all of the shenanigans pushed by leftist groups that has infiltrated our voting system.
If you have election day, everyone shows up to vote with their SSN and ID in hand and just picks the one candidate they want, it is very simple!. I am fine with absentee ballots but it should be the same, verify you are a citizen and eligible to vote and vote early- preferably in person.
RCV works overwhelmingly in the democrat's favor and has already proven as such here in Maine with Jared Golden. Additionally it is how we got it in the first place after Paul Lepage won a second term with less than 50% of the vote. The ballot is essentially one republican and 8 more democrats calling themselves something different. Angus King just as an example. A republican is going to bullet vote because their second choice is not going to be a democrat or independent whereas an "independent" may vote their candidate as 1st choice and the democrat as the second choice.
On top of all those reasons it is a farce, the amount of ballots that are spoiled increases dramatically because of the mental gymnastics required to understand it and understand all the valid and invalid ways to mark the ballot.
One person. One vote, winner take all. That does not mean I advocate for a national popular vote. I would actually love to see at the state level an electoral college type system which here in Maine would keep all the socialists/leftists in check with the rest of the people in this state.
