Going to be down there for a week this month. Debating between taking the mini van or the truck, but don’t want some hobo’s stealing the cats. All over every side of SLC.
Is it bad? |

I see the news articles but can't say I know anyone that has been hit.
And now that I say that mine will be missing when I start the car next time.

I park outside every day in West Valley or Riverton. We haven't had any reported issues yet in any of our parking lots.
That said, I wouldn't drive a park a Prius outside unless I'd installed a cat plate on it. Apparently, it's quite easy to snag one from a Prius with a Sawzall and a few seconds. Take a look at your vehicles and find the cat location and see how easy or hard they are to access. |

Combined with hood clearance so sliding under it to chop them really quick has me worried. |

We get about a thousand a year in Salt Lake County. You are ten times more likely to suffer a vehicle burglary here. Pretty sure you are safe.
