Hmm I might be able to get up there. I'm way South Austin near Manchaca. Is the Tractor Supply store open and do they have heaters?

Thanks, Jim.
I really dont want to make the 30 hour drive, but if she freezes her pipes, I'll have to go there to fix everything anyways....
As stated, if someone else can fly, I'll buy one for them as well.

I tried calling the Hutto and Taylor TSC stores, neither one answered.

Our power has been out in Hutto since  2:30am with no eta of coming back on.

I just spoke with someone at Pflugerville Home Depot, and was told that they are all sold out.
I have 2 here for all the good that does...

Words could not fully explain the brotherhood of the cheesecaker!

Snowpocalypse has shut down a lot of Austin.

Does she have a gas stove or a fireplace?

@Zhukov would be the best bet, or might know a Pflugervillian that can

Gas stove, but last I knew, she couldn't figure out how to light it. No. I am not joking.

Well count me out. My truck battery is no bueno and I have to leave the Jeep for my wife and kids in case of emergency. No way I'm taking my 700HP Camaro out in this haha. Hmm let me see if I have any friends in that area.

@SurfAnimal

Does she have transportation? I've heard of Churches in the Austin area that are taking people in

Well, I appreciate it, but it seems hopeless to find a heater in the area. I assume generators are out as well....

Yes, but her neighborhood is snowed in and unplowed, and the car dealer "talked her out of" getting AWD.

Agreed.  It's frustrating when someone needs help and there's nothing you can do!  Glad she has power.  Hopefully her downage was due to repair and now it's fixed..... just in time for rolling blackouts, lol.

Just about anything that makes more warmth than a 40 watt light bulb has been snatched up around most cities in Texas.

There are LARGE quantity of people without any light or heat tonight - may be the waking & making of some Preppers?

Was out and about with the Mrs today tending to her horse, no trouble at all getting around in 4hi.

Only thing I saw open between Cedar Creek and Luling were just gas pumps.
Walmart, Tractor Supply, Harbor Freight in Bastrop were all closed.

Heaters are wiped out just about everywhere in the Austin area that I checked a couple of days ago.

If I had a heater to give or where to get one to her, I would.

Thanks guys. I'm going to sit tight and finish up a few things here that need finished if I gotta leave.
If things do not improve for her in the next few hours, I'll be taking a roadtrip.
If I go, I'll be buying 2 new kero heaters and a Honda invertor genny HERE. Along with some bottled water, kerosene, and gas.
My truck can get through anything and I'll be glad to do what I can for anybody down there once Liz is squared away.
I'll know by early tonight whether or not I'm going, but as it sits now, I'm regretting that I didn't leave yesterday...

She has basically talked me out of driving down now. With unplowed roads for a hundred miles in any direction, that SEEMS like a smart idea, but me, I'm thinking I could heat the house and prevent pipes from bursting, and unneeded suffering . For now, I guess I'm staying put, and just worrying.

Same boat as Nutro way south and sorry I missed this.  Assumed the alert was about my membership expiring next month.

After the chaos of all the retail places today I would bet there is not a heater to be found in town.

Will cross my fingers the power stays on.  Mine has been out for 32 hours.

Just saw this. Never got the notification.

So much around here has been closed and limited stock.
