I don't know why but the State Highway Patrol has been running that area and pulling cars over

I thought they were supposed to only patrol the interstate and state roads like Rte 4, 33 etc

They’ve been writing seatbelt violations even if you’re wearing it.

They think they are the state police. Revenuers like these guys give real cops a bad name.

State Patrol can write a ticket on any road and will.

Cleveland and 161 still the most dangerous intersection in the state?

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has jurisdiction on all state property (including state offices and buildings) and public roads in Ohio.  Because it is not a state police, it does not have jurisdiction on private property unless assisting local law enforcement.
That’s why you may see OSHP outside the more usual settings.

You would think in that area they would have better things to concern themselves with.

That's what they're doing.  The only way they can start interaction sis by pulling people over, then they notice something that smells like marijuana, and start searching your car.

Sounds like they should post up in Franklinton, not Cleveland and 161. The latter is a Class A area compared to Franklinton.

Was out last night around 2:30 AM. Highway Patrol were on Bethel Rd and Sawmill Rd. They had one car pulled over on Bethel Rd. One of them followed me for a short distance on Sawmill Rd.

The issue I have with it, especially on Cleveland south of Morse, is that when you turn of Morse (45 mph) the speed limit goes to 35. It isn't marked until you get close to Ferris.

Went by there today.  Looks like the 35 mph sign on Cleveland Ave was run over, probably by a DUI, it is back up now.  Funny another DUI hit the COTA shelter.  They covered it with plywood
