Basically they are changing some language regarding pistols that are classified as assault weapons which are use for Olympic type sports, instructing SLFU to create a running list of such handguns and make that list publicly available.

If I understand the changes correctly for this one here is a summary:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2023): (a) Not later than October 1, 2023, the Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection shall (1) identify semiautomatic pistols that (A) are defined as assault weapons in any provision of subparagraphs (B) to (F), inclusive, of subdivision (1) of section 53-202a of the general statutes, and (B) are designed for use in target shooting and sanctioned for such use by a United States or international target shooting organization or for use in the Olympic Games, and (2) post a list of such pistols on the Internet web site of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection. Such list shall be used for the purposes of identifying semiautomatic pistols that may be sold pursuant to subdivision (4) of subsection (b) of section 53-202b of the general statutes, as amended by this act, or that may be possessed pursuant to subsection (f) of section 53-202c of the general statutes, as amended by this act, or subparagraph (A) of subdivision (2) of subsection (a) or subdivision (7) of subsection (f) of section 53-202d of the general statutes, as amended by this act.
(b) The commissioner shall review the list posted pursuant to subsection (a) of this section not less frequently than annually and make any revisions to such list as the commissioner deems necessary.

Sec. 2. Section 53-202b (Effective October 1, 2023): In subsection (4) removes language about Olympic Committee and adds; “identifies on a list posted on the Internet web site of the Department of Emergency Services and Public,”

Removes language about DESPP adopting regulations designating certain semiautomatic pistols as assault weapons may be sold if pistols are sanctioned by Olympic Committee. Instead just those on the new list designated by DESPP can be sold provided one indicates that the pistol will be used by primarily for target shooting practice and events.

Sec. 3. Section 53-202c (Effective October 1, 2023): In subsection (f) removes language about DESPP designating pistol expressly for Olympic games, adds; “identifies on a list posted on the Internet web site of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection pursuant to section 1 of this act,”

Sec. 4. Section 53-202d (Effective October 1, 2023): Removes language in subsection (2) about DESPP designating pistol for use in Olympic games, adds; “identifies on a list posted on the Internet web site of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection pursuant to section 1 of this act,”

Removes language in subsection (7) about DESPP designating pistol for use in Olympic games, adds; “identifies on a list posted on the Internet web site of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection pursuant to section 1 of this act,”

Sec. 5. (Effective October 1, 2023): Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter 54 of the general statutes, sections 53-202b-1 to 53-202b-5, inclusive, of the regulations of Connecticut state agencies are repealed.

Sec. 6. (Effective October 1, 2023): Not later than January 1, 2024, the Secretary of the State shall update the official compilation of the regulations of Connecticut state agencies posted on the eRegulations System to comply with the provisions of chapter 54 of the general statutes and section 5 of this act.

And all this BS while there are active "awb" lawsuits that will most likely be successful.  Waste their time and our tax dollars on absolute BS.  The New Mexico democrats are smarter than our clowns.  Can we swap our clowns for them at least?
