Huh forgot to post that here while posting that news to other places this morning.

Really shouldn't have been a surprise after SLFU issued their 3/30/2023 memo about "others" still being legal (not AW's) in their "other" configuration if they are affected by the ATF pistol brace rule.
The State of Connecticut has been advised by the ATF-NFA that because CT has not changed the definitions of “assault weapon” or “rifle”, Form 1 applications coming from CT, for “CT Others”, will be processed without the need for further documentation from the Special Licensing and Firearms Unit. Just a reminder, the issuance of a tax stamp for what is federally defined as a Short Barrel Rifle, does not allow the holder to modify that firearm from a “CT Other” to what is defined as an assault weapon in Connecticut.
