Linki is NOT hotified intentionally.

It's the book of faces, but that's how the video was sent to me.
Things could be about to get pretty interesting.
KCSO dep arrives to call about woman in traffic. Video starts with dep on top of woman in a very strange position. Family gets involved, other deps arrive, woman is cuffed, FPD shows up, they start to escort woman to car and family/bystanders will not back off and mother grabs at dep/woman, ends up getting taken down as well.
Post is calling for BLM, etc, etc, etc.

Sounds similar to the Ennis thing.

I don't think anyone that has ever fought anyone else would think the mount is a "very strange position."

I don't think I would call the position that the deputy was in a mount.
He was face to face with her, his body and arms superimposed on hers, and it did not appear to be transitional, he was static in that position during the video.
ETA: Obviously we don't have what happened right before the video, so I don't know what he was doing prior. He's clearly waiting for assistance which appears to have arrived very close to the start of the video.
From his positioning, I assumed he has had some training to use that position or something like it, maybe even grappling like in your link. My officer survivability/restraint training was a long time ago, and grappling wasn't a part of it (at least the formal discipline of grappling). From what I was trained in, you didn't want to be face to face with someone any longer than you had to (all kinds of bad things can happen), and you worked to transition them into some form of safer positioning as soon and as long as possible so they were not a threat to you and they could be restrained.

That's exactly what it is.  The mount is a great position to be in, whether you're trying to beat the snot out of the person on the bottom, or just hold them securely until backup arrives.

I was editing my post while you were responding I think.
I get that a mount may be preferable and there all kinds of things that can be done from that. In this case, the deputy is open to having her bite, spit, puke, headbutt, whatever. That's why I'm saying it does not appear to be a preferred manipulation. I may be completely wrong, but I wouldn't want to keep someone in that position for very long.

Yeah, there are some yucky things that can happen there, but there's something to be said for just having control (especially hands), and being able to catch your breath.  I think you'll find most LE agencies train at least a little on guard and mount positions.  With so many MMA wannabes out there, well, it would be foolish not to.

Agreed, that's why I'm curious about the events just prior to the video. Whatever was going on, it was sufficient to dislodge his camera unit, and she was frothing/drooling/whatever.
I'm not saying he did anything wrong at all, I was just stuck that he was in that position for as long as it appears he was. He was there, I wasn't.

@DaTrueDave:
You're right. KCSO trains top mount as part of Jujitsu training, so it looks like he was wishing training and standards.
Original female was transported for a psych assessment, and the mother was charged with assault, interfering, and had two outstanding warrants.

They already have the T Shirts printed up and deployed.  At least these folks can organize something, some times.

So just let people kill themselves so their mom (with warrants) can get on Tv and blame the police?

Can't manage to do whatever to clear her two warrants but has time to be a community organizer.
