Was poking thru GA regs. Looks like gen gun in GA runs Nov and dec. But I'm looking at the various wma regs and I only see a couple of 5 day openings in each wma. Are there Areas that are open the entire season? I would have thought the NFs up north would have been open for gun all season.

The Chattahooche and Oconee National forest land that is not part of a WMA are subject to state seasons. Most WMA's do a few hunts only throughout the season as part of the management programs in place, some are open to the public but some are quota hunts you have to apply for well in advance to keep the pressure in line with the carrying capacity of the land and ensure hunters safety.

There are plenty of opportunities for public hunting throughout the season if you're willing to travel to different WMA's. Personally I don't like the open WMA hunts because of the number of unsafe hunters I've encountered on them in years past.

very little hunting on North Georgia wmas. You have to go south if you want hunting opportunities.
