Anyone shoot at this range just north of Decatur on Hwy 51? They have an 800 yd range, but have to take a course and demonstrate that your capable before being allowed to use it. They also have a separate 200 yd range. both are open to the public unless the long range sniper league is shooting.

I have shot in s few sporting clay charity tourneys there. It is a class act.

I have shot there. It's a really nice facility. The qualification to shoot on the long range is not hard assuming you have a capable gun. I believe it's a diamond, maybe 2 moa tall by 3 moa wide at 200 yards? 3 shots inside the diamond gets you to the long range

They've got a board with ammo types to show what qualifies as shootable at the range shack.

Shot FMJ out my AR-15 and M1 Garand with no issue last time I was there.
M855 was no-go.

I just did the long range Qual. You shoot out to 700 yards. They just want to make sure you know what you are doing and don't skip a round out of the property. Targets are 24x32 silhouette. As long as you have a decent rifle, no problem.
As was said, no fmj.
