I went there for an early dinner last Friday, after they had been closed for a week to give their staff a break, they said. Great food and drink. Good selection, too. I will definitely go back. They will be closed Tue-Wed for the foreseable future, which I assume is because it's the off season for tourists in the area. Most of the restaurants were really not busy, and it seemed mostly locals this time of year. Big difference from when I have been there in the summer.
I don't think they are siding with liberal or conservative views, and try to give a balanced presentation of quotes and books. For example, there were some books on display when you first come in, and there was a book about the dangers of socialism or something like that, right next to a book with a subject that started with "Woke". I didn't look at them closely enough, as I was seated quickly to a table, by their very attentive and friendly staff.
Other favorite restaurants of mine in Williamsburg are Sal's by Victor, Another Broken Egg Cafe, and Shorty's Diner, as I visited those a couple times each, and try to go to them each time I am there. Food For Thought is now in my list of "must return", too.
