Are we for or against (and why) the Floria Voter in Charge constitutional amendment on gaming (ambling)?
Wife and I got petitions in the mail yesterday.  Too much legalese for me to understand what it really means.

Many many years ago when I was in Missouri we had a similar bill they were trying to push through. It was to simply get paramutual gambling on the ballot so there would be a vote on it. This initiative was pushed by some shady looking guys in the back of a very nice luxury car. Looking back It was just to get something on the ballot to provide cover for a pre-established election outcome.
I bet if you look into it just about everywhere gambling has hit the ballot it eventually was pushed through.
So, are you for or against various form of gambling this would allow?
Vote accordingly.

Basically, at the moment only the First Nations are allowed to operate the casinos.  Big business wants to be able to come in and do the same.

Personally I'm against it - after the state and fed government screwed the First Nations over repeatedly I think them having an exclusive here or there is a good thing.

I’m for promotion of tourism, which is our state’s heavy industry. I would love casino gambling similar to Nevada, Florida could do it better then some
place like Nevada. Any way to legally separate the money from the tourist, so they will go home sooner and happy would be good for our state. Make
sure the gaming is squeaky clean and the state revenue comes out the winner.

The Indian run casinos have worse odds and pay tables than just about every other casinos.
Why??? Because they can and not much can be done because Florida gives them a monopoly.

Granted, keep the business within the state, but don't let just one entity run it.

I say keep sleezy casino owners out. Gambling, imo, promotes addiction and irresponsible behavior.
