Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Fire destroyed firearms

Lost a few firearms to a fire last week. Insurance will cover them but they don’t/can’t/won’t mess with them. I have to take pics, document descriptions and serial numbers and then dispose of them myself. Obviously, I can’t just throw them in the trash was thinking of calling the local PD but anyone else go through anything like this?
