I'm wanting to screen in and put a roof over a small second floor deck. It's about 6'x10'.  The upper deck is held up by five 6x6s that end at the top of the railing for the deck.  I want to make it about four feet taller, roof it and screen it. I was thinking of making a 6x6 and 6x4 frame to sit on top of the railing and existing 6x6s and attach it to the house, then add the roof. Does anyone know if this would pass an inspection?
