You know about as much as the rest of us Also for some reason the Watauga county Sheriff recommended that a school that is miles and miles away from where this is happening go on lockdown.

Unfortunately the two deputies were killed.  Tragic

My understanding is family hadn't shown up to work and were not answering calls.  Deputies show up for welfare check.  Deputies ambushed by family member who had already killed other family members.  Both deputies killed.  Boone PD officer shot in head but had ballistic helmet that saved his life.  Suspect took his own life.
