Looks like there's some events at the East Plano Islamic Center Friday and Saturday, but I don't know where those are. And there's a gay pride event protesting cops on Main in downtown Dallas this week. To kick off Pride Month, join the In Solidarity fambam as we call for the removal of police and capitalistic presences from Pride events. We acknowledge that there are cops who are members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and they deserve to join in. But they should come as members of the community, not as cops, especially while the fight against Police brutality continues. Queer lives are real; blue lives are not. |

Speaking of Facebook, I sat in on a school zoom meeting with my daughter concerning applying to go to college, scholarships, financial aid, etc. The liberal woman leading the meeting advised students to not have anything too extreme posted to their pages, and not post too much about BLM because they didn't know who would be looking at their pages and they could unknowingly be discriminated against by having too much of that on their facebook page.
So again, you're all a bunch of racists for not supporting the BLM cause. She suggested making your facebook page as benign as possible. She also cautioned against not having a facebook page or any social media presence, because college admissions are questioning it in some cases. Why don't you have a facebook account? She didn't go into it, but I assume they are classifying those without as conservative extremists. Just something to think about. |

President Trump is speaking in Dallas next month at CPAC. July 9-11. At the Anatole. It will be interesting to see if there are protests or not. The hotel is near Downtown but not in Downtown. It also is not on DART Rail meaning it would be difficult to reach on foot.

Decent number of folks arriving, parking in the Shire parking lot. The restaurant Texas (or someone) has a random joe stationed in the front parking aisle asking you to park elsewhere if you're with the protest. Go visit Texas though, great restaurant!

Seems to be wrapping up. Decent crowd waving signs and yelling at passing cars. Small slowdown on the frontage road but the crowd is staying nicely on the curb.
