2 stamp rifle in 300 Blackout for my wife as a Christmas gift.

DANG! lower, PSA upper, Larue trigger and a Phantom M2.  My son built the lower and did the coloring.

I'll load subsonics for it and it'll be a bench gun.

Nice. I have a 8.5 PSA upper in 300BLK and the same suppressor. With 220gr subsonics, the bolt and recoil spring is louder than the report.

That's what I expect.  I just wanted to put together a "cream puff" bench gun for her.  She's a big fan of DANG!.  So... here we are!  I have brass on the way but still need to order dies.

Any subsonic load suggestions?

That is beautiful!!!

You are going to love it.  I built a 10.5" suppressed 300Blk and it is my favorite. Also my kids favorite.

One day I took it to a small 100 yd range near here.  The range guy on duty asked what that sound was.  The rifle with 220g subs was so quiet that you could hear the pill hitting the berm.  The look on his face was worth all the $$ and the wait for the stamps. :)

Over the last 5 years all the big reloading manuals have added 300 blk varieties.  You'll need to tweek them to your rifle to see how fast you can push them with out breaking the sound barrier.  Do you have a chrony?

I like A1680 for my subs, but it isn't the cleanest powder with a suppressor.  No matter what you shoot you'll get excess gas back through the charging handle. Make sure you are always wearing glasses.

I do have a chronograph.  I ordered dies yesterday and already have 147, 155 168, 170, 208 and 220 bullets.  Another arfcomer sent me 92 pieces of once fired CBC brass and I have 500 GFL on the way.  I need to figure out powder and find it locally.

I started a thread a couple weeks ago about charging handles but the opinions seem to be all over the place.  I'll just rock the factory one during load development with glasses and figure it out from there.

You’ll be able to hit subsonic velocities on the 208s and 220s for sure. The smallest I’ve run subsonic was a 194 from Lehigh. The 147s make for a good range plinking round.

The blowback from the CH isn’t terrible. I still shoot normal, but you can feel it. You will also clean everything more often. Bolt, barrel, flash hider, etc will all get dirtier. But it is totally worth it! Subs are so much fun.

Also, you should expect that your first round will ‘pop’ pretty loud and then everything will settle down as the oxygen is used up inside the can.

RTV seal the charging handle.  It’s a inexpensive alternative to a new charging handle and it works.

I like IMR 4227 for subs.  I’ve used 1680 but 4227 worked best for my 8.5” 300blk upper.

That'll be a fun little blaster!
I've done the RTV sealant on the charging handle, it works good, just use some wax on the parts you don't want it to stick to.
I have a 9" 300 blk.
Here's the load data that I've had success with.
Keep in mind all this is for plated bullets but it'll get you in the ballpark.

Bullet               Powder               Powder load           OAL            Velocity 9"
200 gr plated    IMR 4227           10.9 gr                   2.100"         1057 fps
200 gr plated    Lil Gun               8.9 gr                     2.200"         1018 fps
200 gr plated    A1680               11.9 gr                    2.100"         995 fps
200 gr plated    Viht N110           9.0 gr                     2.240"         1008 fps
220 gr plated    Lil Gun               8.6 gr                     2.150"         1027 fps
220 gr plated    Viht N110           8.9 gr                     2.240"         986 fps

I've done this; works wonders. Though I still typically wear eyepro; I'm a left and still catch a blast from the ejection.
