Can we get a spec thread going on all the types? I’m familiar with the std, but no way I can remember all the different ones.

There really isn't a spec.  Run what your brung.

Sure there are people who put stuff on their gear and have crazy colors but all that matters is that is works in shitty conditions.

Red dots on pistols are an advantage but not required.  Optics on rifles are not required but are sure a help.

It just needs to pew reliably and hit where you aim.

There is most certainly a spec. I need to get to a pc to find the multiple archived cwar threads, but your basic CWAR rifle is as follows:

16” accurate barrel
13” Geissele mk4 rail
Trijicon TA33 ACOG in a factory or high mount (Larue mount is too low)
Geissele SSA-E
Not heavy collapsible stock

Here is my example

There are other variants, such as

CWAR-DMR
SCWAR
CWAR-F
SHE-CWAR
CW4RD1ZZL3

But I’ll get into those another time.

With this said, a person certainly shouldn’t be discouraged if their cw rifle doesn’t meet “spec”. The spec that is most popular is the OG CWAR, because it’s a lightweight, accurate rifle that works very well in a lot of situations.  If someone wants to come to a Cola Warrior and use something such as a bare bones Colt 6920 with an Aimpoint PRO and a 3x magnifier or something else, then great! My last several events have been with a rifle that doesn’t meet any real spec, but it hasn’t stopped me from clearing rifle targets for both day and night runs. Use what works for you.

I would venture to state that less than 20% of the gear used is halal.

Winners use LPVOs quite often. I agree on the rest of the stuff but they just make for a solid rifle.

OP run what you brung.

I believe it's supposed to be a lighter weight barrel as well, but I'd assume the accuracy standard is sub 3 MOA with whatever your chosen ammo is.

I know that small changes have been made to the specs over time.  Are any of the other Geissele rail offerings worthy of inclusion in the spec, like the Mk16?  IIRC, the spec includes both the Mk4 and Mk8, currently.  Also includes the LWRC Compact and Ultra Compact in addition to the B5 now, too.

I think light weight is part of the overall concept as well.

My first AR was partly inspired by the CWAR, although it wasn't made to be a CWAR.  Once I can afford the optic for it, it'll have four of the five pillars of CWAR (the rail being the missing one; it has a 10.5" Geissele Mk16 instead of a 13" Mk4 or Mk8).

Once I get a TA-33 and mount, it should come in at a couple of ounces or so over 7lbs. with optic.  Even with a light, mount, and remote switch it should still be under 7.5 lbs.

Not quite a CWAR, but close enough (depends how strict we are being regarding the rail spec).  I used it for the first time at Cola Warrior Heartland, albeit with irons (I didn't have the optic, yet).  This is my first AR, ever.

1. 16" Daniel Defense LW Profile CHF Barrel

2. Trijicon TA-33 ACOG w/Red Horseshoe

3. Geissele SSA-E trigger from CWW2

4. LWRCI Compact stock

5. Geissele 10.5" Mk16 rail (it does completely cover/protect the gas block)

6. Weight.  Rifle weighs 6lbs. 13.6 oz. empty with optic mounted, no accessories.

It has parts from a number of current and past CW sponsors, including Geissele, as mentioned; Magpul; Radian; Forward Control Designs; Daniel Defense, as mentioned; ALG; Arisaka; Battle Arms Development; and Brownell's.  Once I install my new light (the parts for it are on the way), it'll also have the wire keepers from sponsor Arson Machine.  Some parts were bought from sponsors which are just vendors.  FCD 6315 has a peep and crossbones on it.

Rifle I brought.

16" DDC16. TA11mgo. Gemtech G5.

Not bringing that same rifle next time. I couldn’t see the damned 350 yard and beyond targets at CW NW.

Bringing this instead. Still working on it and will get it dialed in.

SWAG from sponsors. Some of it very valuable and all marked for CWAR and non transferable to non Cola Warriors. You can’t sell it.

No intention of selling,.
It's going to be the basis of my SE 8 rifle.
With the exception of a stock and LPK every part of this rifle will be from SE 7.

I'm ready to suck less!

My first cola was was with an rds

I've learned to love magnification, but at the expense of time leaving me older and fatter.
My first classic last year left me realizing that everything but my chug needs serious work (that just needs some work).

My goto not quite cwar:

Had a 1-8x nx8/rm06/g mount/rof90 combo on it at classic, which has since moved to my adm/G build that's kind of a pig.
