I will admit to knowing next to nothing about climbing, and most of these folks will be flat landers. I did some tower work in the army, if my life depended on it I could tie my own Swiss seat and rapell, but not something I would be willing to do with other people's children. Does anyone know a guide/instructor in the area?

If you're doing it with Boy Scouts, be sure to check their requirements, they've gotten a lot more stringent about that sort of stuff than when I was in back in the '80's. But they may also have instructors available. Insurance is going to be the biggie, otherwise I'd suggest asking the Fifth Ranger Training Battalion if any of their guys were interested in helping. There is a company in Fort Payne, AL, right across the state line, that has campsites and offers rappelling, rockclimbing, and other adventures. There's also a Boy Scout camp somewhere near Cloud Springs Canyon, IIRC (I know there's a Girl Scout camp up there). When I was a Boy Scout, we went to Camp Jackson, near Scottsboro, AL.
